Dehradun itself derives it’s name from the historical fact that Shri Guru Ram Rai, the eldest son of seventh sikh Guru Har Rai, set up up his ‘DERA’ (Camp) in Doon valley in 1676. This ‘Deradoon’ later on become ‘Dehradun’. Dehradun is Capital of state of India Uttrakhand since 9th Nov 2000. Dehradun is the famous for its natural resources. Dehradun and Uttrakhand state is located at the foot hills of Himalayas. Dehradun is located between in India’s largest river Ganga and Yamuna. Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara established by Guru Ram Rai in the 17th century, and Aurangzeb supported to many reasons. An annual fair Jhanda Mela is held every year on the 5th day after Holi festival.

Clock Tower (Ghanta ghar):

Clock Tower also known as Ghanta ghar is a very famous attraction of local and tourists. It was started in the year 1948 and got complete in 1953. The much respected Lal Bahadur Shastri inaugurated the monument. It was a renawned land mark of the city and was built by the British before India got its independence. The Clock Tower situatied between Rajpur Road, Chakrota Road and Paltan bazar and surrounded by numero us business centers, Digvijay Theater, (GPO) General Post Office.

Sahastra…Literally means thousands fold springs. It is ecstatic beauty and therapeutic value since it’s water contains Sulphur. While the place can be visited any time during the year .
